Call recording policy

Last updated: July 4, 2026

This policy explains how Rannah handles the recording of calls it answers on behalf of subscribed businesses, who controls recording, and how recordings are stored and protected.

Recording is configurable

Call recording in Rannah is not mandatory. Each business decides in its settings whether its calls are recorded, and can change this option at any time. Changes apply to new calls and do not affect existing recordings except under the deletion rules described below.

Caller notice

When recording is enabled, a caller notice can be configured at the start of the call according to the business's settings, such as an audio announcement that the call may be recorded for quality purposes.

The business remains responsible for ensuring that its notice settings meet the legal requirements applicable to its activity, and we provide the tools for this during setup.

Purposes of recording

Recordings are used only for the following purposes:

  • Reviewing answer quality and confirming that Rannah follows the business's style and rules.
  • Handling complaints and disputes related to a specific call, such as verifying booking details.
  • Improving the business's own Rannah setup, such as tuning responses and adding missing FAQs.

No training of general-purpose models

We do not use your call recordings or transcripts to train general-purpose AI models, whether ours or anyone else's. Recordings are used only to serve the business that owns the calls, for the purposes described above.

Retention

The default retention period for call recordings is ninety days from the call date, after which recordings are deleted automatically.

A business can adjust the retention period from its settings within the available options, or request the deletion of specific recordings at any time. Further details are in the data retention policy.

Access and security

Recordings are stored in private storage that is not publicly accessible, and are accessed only through signed, time-limited links that expire automatically.

Access to your business's recordings is limited to authorized users within your organization according to their roles, and to the Rannah team when operationally needed for support or quality, under logged internal controls.

Business controls

Rannah gives each business the following controls:

  • Enable or disable recording at any time.
  • Configure the caller notice to suit its activity.
  • Adjust the retention period within the available options.
  • Request the deletion of specific recordings or all recordings.
